Minitom

Compact small-specimen cut-off machine, benchtop design for precision cross-section preparation in space-limited laboratories.

The Minitom is Struers' most compact benchtop precision cut-off machine, designed for space-limited laboratories or applications requiring small specimen sectioning. Despite its small footprint, the Minitom provides a full recirculating coolant system and low-vibration cutting capability — accurately cutting metal, ceramic, and composite specimens up to 40 mm. Its lightweight design (8 kg) makes it ideal for teaching laboratories, on-site analysis, or multi-location laboratory environments.

Key Features

  • Ultra-compact benchtop design — 275 × 280 × 205 mm footprint
  • Only 8 kg — easy to move and relocate
  • Recirculating coolant system prevents thermal damage to specimens
  • Low-vibration cutting for consistent cross-section surface quality
  • Clear protective guard for safe, visible operation
  • Suitable for small metal, ceramic, and composite specimens

Applications

  • University and vocational school metallographic teaching
  • Small-batch research specimen precision cross-sections
  • On-site quality control rapid small-specimen sectioning
  • Electronic connector and small-component cross-section analysis
  • Dental material and small medical implant cross-section preparation
